JOHNSTON GROUP INSPIRES WITH GALA CONCERT

Manitoba Opera closes out the 2021/2022 season with a Gala Concert on Saturday, April 2. With generous support from Johnston Group, this sparkling event invites us to come together―whether in person or virtually―to celebrate the power of opera.

Providing employee benefit solutions to more than 30,000 companies across Canada and headquartered right here in Winnipeg, Johnston Group is committed to supporting organizations that enrich, inspire, and improve our city. In a business that’s rooted in the power of community, Johnston Group considers it a responsibility and a privilege to give back.

The Gala Concert will showcase the range and reach of the operatic form, with works by Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, and Bizet performed by internationally acclaimed artists likes Winnipeg soprano Lara Ciekiewicz and Newfoundland-born tenor David Pomeroy. For opera newcomers, it’s an introduction to some of the greatest opera ever written. For long-time fans, it’s a chance to revisit much-loved favourites.

As a philanthropic leader, Johnston Group helped Manitoba Opera navigate the pandemic by supporting innovative virtual programming like The Solo Sessions in 2021. Now, as Performance Sponsor for the Gala Concert, Johnston Group once again demonstrates their belief in the power of live music and song to communicate and connect.

The hybrid event offers the option to attend the live Concert Hall performance or watch the livestream from home. Whatever your choice, Manitoba Opera invites you to get in the celebratory spirit by breaking out your most glamorous outfit. Even if you’re on your couch, you can join in by dusting off your jewels, breaking out the champagne, and making it an occasion.

Right now, we need to celebrate what we can, and with the generous help of Johnston Group, Manitoba Opera will be ending its season on a high note.
