The fall production of The Elixir of Love was a shining example of partnership success. The opening night of Manitoba Opera’s 2024/25 season was kicked off with a reception and dinner that set the stage for a memorable evening.

Dinner guests were greeted with a glass of bubbly, creating an atmosphere of celebration and anticipation for the evening ahead. At the pre-dinner reception, guests had the opportunity to sample two special beverages. The crowd favourite was L’espoir, which balanced floral notes and visual elegance from indigo-colored gin. For those who preferred non-alcoholic options, a sophisticated alternative was the Zero-proof Pomegranate Cheer made with blood orange bitters, pomegranate juice, and alcohol-removed brut.

Manitoba Liquor Mart product experts specially selected red and white wines which were paired with the wonderful meal crafted by Bergmann’s on Lombard. While the elixir flowed throughout dinner, so did the opportunities for our community of opera lovers to connect.

Manitoba Opera is grateful for its partnership with Manitoba Liquor Mart and their dedication to supporting opera here at home. Thank you, Manitoba Liquor Mart, for helping us to provide opportunities for our community to create and experience something truly special.

Why I Donate: Kurt Schwarz

Longtime volunteer Kurt Schwarz loves to give his time to Manitoba Opera because it connects him with the people and programs that make the opera season so exciting. But for Kurt, who works in spiritual care in a Winnipeg-based hospital, it’s also important to support Manitoba Opera by making an individual financial donation.
