In this lecture, you’ll hear about how Puccini combined long-breathed romantic arias with modern verismo style, creating a soundscape of early 19th-century Rome in Tosca (1900). Presented by Colette Simonot-Maiello, Associate Professor of Musicology and Associate Dean at the Desautels Faculty of Music. Saturday, November 1, 1:00 PM. Doors open at 12:30 PM.
