In this one-hour lecture, Dr. Colette Simonot-Maiello, Associate Professor of Musicology and Associate Dean at the Desautels Faculty of Music will discuss distinctive features of Italian opera buffa demonstrated in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, including character and voice types, ensemble finales, trouser roles, and patter and lyrical singing styles.
