Lecture & Set Tour: The Influence of Joan Miró & Modernism

Learn about The Marriage of Figaro set and go on stage to see the set up close. The presentation will explore the work of Catalan artist Joan Miró, whose creations inspired the set which was designed by Ken McDonald for Pacific Opera Victoria, as well as Modernism. The presentation will also look briefly at the history of Modernist set design in Winnipeg.
Presented by Dr. Oliver Botar, Associate Director, Graduate Programs and Research, University of Manitoba School of Art.
