Gala Concert Health Protocols

(As of March 1, 2022)

Throughout the pandemic, Manitoba Opera has been guided by the public health orders issued by the Province of Manitoba. In most instances, our own health and safety requirements have exceeded the requirements identified in public health orders for conducting rehearsals, performances, and hosting in-person audiences. We have also been guided by periodic surveying of our patrons to understand their comfort levels and preference for safety requirements.

The following protocols were determined after surveying our patron base of 3,380. Of the 624 patrons who responded to the survey, 75% indicated they were in favour of proof of vaccination requirement and mask wearing to attend the Gala Concert.

We recognize that the public is at varying levels of comfort at this stage of the pandemic. We look forward to a time when we will not require restrictions to attend our live events, but that time is not yet.

We appreciate your support and ask for your understanding and cooperation as we implement these requirements for the public to attend the concert.

Seating in the Theatre

There will be two seats left empty between each patron cohort. Every row in the hall will be utilized and there will be no social distancing employed in the loges.

Proof of Vaccination

Patrons will be required to show proof of full vaccination.

  • Manitobans: Manitoba Immunization card (physical or digital), along with photo ID to verify. If you do not have photo ID, another Government-issued piece of ID such as your health card is acceptable.
  • Out of Province: The Province of Manitoba has provided a list of documents and samples that are considered valid forms of immunization records issued by other provinces and territories which can be found at Provincial Immunization Record Samples.
  • Children who do not meet the vaccination requirements may attend performances provided they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated caregiver.
